The Hackney Young Futures Commission is talking with children and young people between the ages of 10 and 25

We want to find out how you view Hackney as a place to live, the changes you would like to see, and how you want to be involved in the decisions that affect your life.

We believe young people should be involved in making decisions that affect our lives, so we are bringing together children and young people with councillors, heads of services, workers in youth clubs.  We think adults need to listen to children and young people and deciding things together.

Have your say

We have already been visiting schools and youth clubs, and talking to young people on the street to find out the main concerns and issues affecting their lives.

We also want to know what you love about Hackney, so we can do more of the things young people enjoy and make your life better.

Hackney Young Futures Commission - Chairs and Vice Chairs 2.JPG

So many brilliant young people applied for the role of chair and vice chair that we chose four really amazing and passionate young people to lead the commission.

Jermain, Shekeila, Mishaque and Georgina are aged between 18 and 25 and each had a different experience of growing up in Hackney.

About the commission

Alongside the two chairs and two vice chairs the commission is made up of different people including councillors, community members, as well as young people from different backgrounds who all have different experiences of living and growing up in Hackney.
